Cream Puffs

It's been a minute since I posted on here.  I almost forgot what to do. ;-)

One of the local art stores had a sale on gessoboard panels, and since I've never painted on this surface I thought I'd give it a shot.  I have to say that I'm really glad I made the choice to paint on gessoboard.  The size is smaller than what I'm used to (6"x6") so I usually paint one subject.  Painting on gessoboard makes it a little easier for me to paint wet into wet without mixing the top layer with the underlying layer too much.  It gives the painting a more textured look.  At least that's the way it seems to me.  I saw some cream puffs in the grocery store and thought I'd try my hand at it.  I love the challenge of rendering textures faithfully.  This is my first try and I liked it, so I'll probably paint a few more.
