Zorn's Strawberries
"Zorn's Strawberries", oil on canvas board

This was painted using the Zorn palette. It's named after Anders Zorn, a Swedish artist who is known for portraits and nudes in outdoor settings. He's also known for using a limited palette which has three colors: Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red, and Ivory Black, plus Titanium White.
I have a few more figure drawings. These are long poses (about 2 to 3 hours) and they're back poses.
I thought the light and dark shapes made a pattern that was so prominent that this one practically drew itself. It was just a matter of getting measurements and proportions correct. I really should have stopped just after two hours, but sometimes I don't know when to stop and I almost ruined it.
This drawing started out so well, but I struggled with the middle tones. Also, the ceiling lights washed out a lot of the values in the shoulders.
This is more of a side pose than the other two. Feel free to comment. :-)

Black and White
"Black and White", oil on canvas panel

This was painted with a limited palette. The bowl is actually closer to a dark brown, but "Black and "White" sounds so much better.
